TFR team runs HCMC Marathon 2018

15 January 2018

A team of The Fruit Republic runners joined 10,000 other runners in the first Ho Chi Minh City Marathon held on January 14, 2018.

The event has been renamed from the annual Ho Chi Minh City Run held since 2013.

It is the first year the race includes a full marathon (42km), a half marathon (21km) and other events over 10km, 5km and 3km. The longer distances passed over Phu My Bridge, District 7.

The team of The Fruit Republic competed in distances of 5km, 10km and 21km. Siebe, Jeroen, Nga and Nhanh all ran 21km while Hiep and her team competed in distances 5km and 10km.

“It is a nice annual event that brings our team closer together and through these events we hope to create a more active and healthy sporting culture within our company,” said managing director, Siebe van Wijk.

After the race all TFR runners joined a rewarding breakfast at Boomerang, District 7.

Next up for the running team of TFR is the Dalat Ultra Trail Marathon set for March 2018 through the pine forests of Dalat.

And during the run you might come across some of the vegetable farms of The Fruit Republic.
